The American Energy Security Project, Inc. (AESP) is a campaign backed by a coalition of forward-thinking American job creators and entrepreneurs who share a common mission: to educate and advocate for the safe removal and storage of CO2 from the atmosphere, while creating game-changing economic opportunities for underrepresented communities across Louisiana and the nation.
In partnership with Industry Makes, a leading voice in Louisiana aimed at advocating for future investment and industrial growth, the AESP hopes to galvanize the industrial backbone that made Louisiana what it is today. The project is additionally supported by a coalition of entities engaged in all aspects of the carbon management value chain, as well as key stakeholders in economic development and community engagement.
The AESP was conceived in late winter of 2024 when special interest groups began hosting “misinformation sessions” in Louisiana, which leads the nation in CCUS, in which the technology was inaccurately portrayed as dangerous, an infringement on property rights of homeowners and scientifically untested. All of those allegations are untrue and the same false arguments that have been pushed for years by extremist environmental groups. The goal of the AESP is to clarify the truth about this transformative carbon capture and sequestration technology.
The AESP is committed to local communities, and our members do this in a variety of ways, from hosting informational meeting to educate the public about how safe and critical carbon capture is for the future health of oil and gas exploration to digital education campaigns explaining the process in detail so communities better understand the power of this game changing technology.
